NPCI BHIM revamped to offer 15 languages support, split bill, and family mode

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), on Tuesday (March 25, 2025) launched Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) 3.0 app that claims to offer a customer friendly and more intuitive experience.

The new BHIM 3.0 will be available in more than 15 Indian languages for better accessibility. It is also optimised to work in low internet areas with slow or unstable network connections.

BHIM 3.0 will also allow to split bills with tools to track, manage, and split expenses. Users can now split bills with friends and family.

NPCI has added Family Mode in BHIM 3.0 version where users can now onboard family members, track shared expenses, and assign specific payments.

BHIM app will get a new dashboard gives where user’s monthly spending patterns will be visible. It will automatically categorises expenses.

A built-in task assistant is there as well to remind users of pending bills linked to the BHIM app, prompts them to enable UPI Lite, and alerts them when their Lite balance is low.

For the merchants, BHIM Vega, an in-app payment solution, will integrate with online merchant platforms, allowing customers to complete payments instantly within the app without switching to third-party apps.

BHIM 3.0 will be rolled out in phases across platforms, with full availability expected by April 2025.
