YouTube launches new AI tool that generates background music for creators

YouTube is rolling out a new AI tool that can help create instrumental tracks for creators who can use them for free. Called the AI Music Assistant Feature, the tool is being rolled out to a limited number of creators based out of the U.S.

Users will be able to generate background tracks using AI prompts to specify the kind of music they want, the instruments, mood and describe the video they plan to use the music for. This also removes the risk of copyright claims for creators on the platform.

Creators who are a part of the beta program of Creator Music on YouTube Studio will have access to the feature.

YouTube is also experimenting with a feature that automatically syncs short content videos with an audio track chosen by the creator. This makes editing simpler for them.

The platform has released a slew of AI-powered features like the remix tool rolled out last year for Shorts. There’s also the Dream Track feature powered by Google DeepMind’s AI model that turns tunes into tracks sung by select artists.
