Nothing is starting the open beta program for its Phone series with the Android 15 version rolling out in the near future. The brand has given the market a refreshing approach with its software, reminiscent of OnePlus when Carl Pei was at the helm.
The company is promising a revamped Nothing OS version with Android 15 and if you have the Phone 2a model, you can try it out today thanks to the open beta program from the brand before the official version rolls out in December this year.
Nothing OS 3.0 Based On Android 15 Promises Big Changes
Nothing OS 3.0 is going to bring a host of changes, including a new-look app drawer, widgets on the lock screen and more. When you glance through the change log available for the open beta Android 15 version, you realise the company is going above and beyond the traditional tweaks expected with the new update from Android.
– The lock screen on the Phone 2a with Android 15 update will offer new customisation options, improved watch faces and give you more space to add more widgets.
– Nothing will offer an AI-powered smart drawer to automatically keep the apps in order which makes it easier to access.
– Cameras on the Nothing Phone will also see some upgrades. Nothing says the camera will launch faster, the HDR processing time will come down, improved portrait effects, and better low-light photos.
These are some of the big changes coming with Nothing OS 3.0 version, and if you have the Phone 2a model, you can apply and try out the unreleased version from this week. Other Nothing Phone models like the Phone 2, Phone 1, Phone 2a Plus and even the CMF Phone 1 will be getting the update in November and December this year, respectively.
We might see the Nothing OS 3.0 version running out of the box with the highly-anticipated Phone 3 model which is tipped to launch in Q1 2025.
