Meta Brings AI-Powered Video Ads On Facebook And Instagram: Do We Really Need It?

Soon, you might notice something different in your Facebook and Instagram feeds, AI-enhanced video ads. Video editing tools driven by AI have been tested by Meta, enabling advertisers to move visuals and enlarge the frame of already-existing videos. With these new tools, advertisers can upload a static image and use Meta's AI system to transform it into a moving video.

For instance, a simple image of strawberries in a jar comes to life as they begin to float slowly in the background. This form of animation offers a fresh way for advertisers to create dynamic content without complex video production skills.

Apart from animation, Meta is also launching an AI feature that enables advertisers to enlarge their current videos.

The programme increases the video’s size without sacrificing the fluidity of its content by creating invisible pixels in each frame. This is comparable to how AI techniques can now make an image’s background more expansive. For advertisers, this can mean maximising the impact of their material by resizing it to fit various screens or giving videos a fresh viewpoint that their original format would have otherwise prevented.

At present, these features are being released gradually; early in the next year, a more widespread rollout is anticipated. These developments will soon be made available to advertisers so they can improve their campaigns on all of Meta’s platforms.

Meta already has AI tools for advertisers, and this development expands upon them. Companies currently employ AI to generate text and images for advertisements, which speeds up and improves process efficiency. Meta is providing even more opportunities for innovative digital marketing with the launch of AI-enhanced video advertisements. For optimal exposure, these advertisements will also be shown on Facebook’s soon-to-be full-screen video tab.

Meanwhile, other companies are exploring AI-powered advertising besides Meta. TikTok has been experimenting with employing AI-generated avatars in its advertising efforts, and Amazon recently unveiled an AI tool that automatically makes video snippets from product images. This change reflects an expanding trend in the sector, where AI is influencing how brands engage consumers with video content in a major way.

As AI advances, more platforms will release features that streamline the process of producing dynamic and captivating advertisements. With new ways to reach consumers in a fast-paced digital environment, this technology marks a significant shift in the way content is produced and disseminated for advertisers.
