What was once considered a benchmark in the flagship range has completely been revamped. The reason? Every company introduces something new in its flagship model segment, positioning itself as unique. Oppo continues this trend with its latest launch of Oppo Find X8 Pro. Priced at ₹99,999, the new Find X8 Pro comes powered by the high-end MediaTek processor, which is Dimensity 9400. The newness that the phone has is an extra control ‘button’, as in the latest iPhone 16 series. Let’s find out what’s new with the Oppo Find X8 Pro!
Design
The design of the new Oppo Find X8 Pro straightaway gives the impression of a premium and camera-centric phone due to the circular camera frame. However, the Pearl White shade looks more stunning. The phone feels light in hand, which adds more to the premium feel. Oppo has used Armor Shield construction on both the front and back, ensuring not only durability but also adds to the phone’s visual appeal, with its matte finish exuding understated elegance.

Oppo has paid close attention to ergonomics with the placement of its ports and buttons. The power button and the volume rockers, along with the capacitive Quick Button, are located on the right edge. The left side carries an alert slider - a good addition just like the OnePlus phones. At the bottom, you’ll find a USB-C port, two mics, a speaker grille, and a dual-SIM tray. The top side features an IR emitter along with two mics.
The front side of the phone is all display with just a punch hole on the top carrying the selfie camera censor. The fingerprint sensor is inbuilt within the display, which is very quick to respond.

The phone also features IP68 certification, allowing it to withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. The IP69 rating goes a step further, protecting it from high-pressure water jets at temperatures as high as 80°C. Adding to its rugged credentials, the device is Swiss SGS certified for whole-phone drop resistance and MIL-STD MGJB 150.18A certified for impact resistance.
Display
The Oppo Find X8 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2760×1256 pixels and a pixel density of 460 ppi, offering clear and detailed visuals. With a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, it dynamically adjusts based on usage, from 1 Hz for static content to 120 Hz for smoother interactions, aiming to balance performance and power efficiency. Brightness levels are notable, reaching 800 nits typical, 1600 nits in high-brightness mode, and up to 4,500 nits for localised HDR highlights, ensuring readability across different lighting conditions.
This panel supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG, making it compatible with a wide range of HDR content. For eye comfort, it incorporates TUV Rheinland Eye Comfort 4.0 certification and utilises 3840Hz PWM dimming below 70 nits to reduce flicker, alongside DC Dimming above 70 nits. These features aim to enhance the viewing experience while minimising strain during prolonged use, catering to both casual and intensive users.
OS and AI
Running on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, the Find X8 Pro offers a polished and intuitive user experience. The interface is visually refreshing, featuring redesigned icons, a new Flux theme, and over 800 animations powered by the Luminous Rendering Engine for smoother transitions.
Oppo leans heavily into AI features, embedding tools like AI Toolbox, which recommends productivity utilities like AI Summary, AI Speak, and AI Writer. Additionally, the AI Photo Remaster suite brings advanced photo-editing capabilities, including tools to unblur images, enhance resolution, and remove reflections. The integration of Google Gemini Assistant ensures responsive voice commands, while Touch to Share simplifies cross-platform file transfers between Android and iOS devices.
Processor
The Oppo Find X8 Pro’s performance is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, a flagship processor built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. It features a combination of one Cortex-X925 prime core clocked at 3.63GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 2.3GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4GHz, designed for a balance of power and efficiency. Paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, the phone feels incredibly snappy in day-to-day tasks, with ample headroom for multitasking, gaming, and media storage.
In my experience, the Find X8 Pro handled everything we threw at it with ease. Everyday apps opened quickly, multitasking between heavy apps was seamless, and the phone maintained steady performance even under demanding conditions. We put the phone through its paces with games like BGMI, Asphalt 9: Legends, and Call of Duty: Mobile, and the results were excellent. Graphics rendered smoothly, frame rates remained stable, and even during long gaming sessions, the device stayed cool.
On benchmarks, the Dimensity 9400 delivered respectable scores, with 2,163 in single-core and 7,322 in multi-core tests on Geekbench, while the GPU achieved a score of 20,072, making it a capable performer for graphics-heavy applications. However, these numbers fall slightly behind Realme GT Pro which was powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Camera
Oppo has taken significant strides in camera innovation with the Hasselblad Master Camera System on the Find X8 Pro. This triple-camera setup is designed for versatility, featuring a 50 MP wide camera (Sony LYT700 sensor) with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS for crisp and stable shots. Complementing this is a 50 MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, which handles expansive compositions. Additionally, the 50 MP telephoto camera utilises a triple prism periscope design, offering a 3x optical zoom at f/2.6 and OIS for detailed zoom shots. For those looking to push boundaries further, a secondary telephoto camera brings 6x optical zoom using a more traditional periscope design (Sony IMX858 sensor, f/4.3). On the front, a 32 MP selfie camera (Sony IMX615 sensor) with an f/2.4 aperture ensures sharp and social-ready images.

In daylight, the Find X8 Pro’s wide camera consistently produces high-quality images with ample detail, vibrant yet balanced colours, and impressive dynamic range. Landscapes and cityscapes look vivid without appearing over processed, and shadow details remain intact alongside well-controlled highlights. The ultra-wide lens performs admirably, capturing expansive scenes with sharpness across the frame and minimal distortion—a strong choice for shooting architecture, large groups, or sweeping outdoor vistas.

The telephoto setup is where the Find X8 Pro demonstrates its capability to stand out. The 3x telephoto lens excels in mid-range portraits, rendering natural facial proportions with soft, pleasing background blur. When zooming further, the 6x telephoto lens delivers clear images even of distant subjects, thanks to its advanced optics. Close-ups captured using this lens show intricate details like the texture of petals or fine threads on fabric. While the longer telephoto lens has a narrower aperture, it performs reliably in bright light and offers more creative opportunities for capturing distant subjects or intricate details.

Night photography is another area where Oppo flexes its computational photography muscle. The wide camera performs admirably in low-light conditions, aided by the HyperTone Image Engine, which intelligently merges multiple RAW frames for superior clarity and noise reduction. Even challenging lighting conditions are handled gracefully, with shadows retaining depth and highlights appearing well-controlled.

The ultra-wide lens, while not as strong as the wide camera in low-light settings, still delivers decent performance, especially when capturing broader scenes. Both telephoto lenses manage to retain detail and colour accuracy even at higher zoom levels during nighttime shooting, though their performance understandably dips compared to daylight use.

Portrait mode benefits from Oppo’s collaboration with Hasselblad, delivering good subject separation and natural bokeh. The phone supports five focal lengths, providing flexibility for creative framing. Each shot has a professional touch, with almost accurate skin tones and a smooth background blur. Whether capturing people or pets, the results feel polished and flattering. But I still feel, the portraits could have been more consistent. The phone does heat up a bit while shooting which I experienced during the humid weather in Bali. Oppo also needs to make the ‘quick button’ more tactile and immersive.

The 32 MP selfie camera handles everything from daylight selfies to indoor portraits with finesse. HDR processing ensures balanced exposures even when shooting against harsh light, while the camera’s detail retention and colour accuracy make it a reliable tool for social media enthusiasts.
Battery
The new Oppo Find X8 Pro is powered by a 5,910 mAh capacity that lasts an entire day comfortably. Charging is equally impressive, with Oppo’s 80 W SUPERVOOC wired charging replenishing the battery to 100% in just 48 minutes. Wireless charging is supported at 50 W using Oppo’s AirVOOC technology, and reverse wireless charging at 10 W adds an extra layer of convenience.
Verdict
The Find X8 Pro is a bold step forward in Oppo’s flagship journey, offering a good mix of premium design, cutting-edge technology, and innovative features. From its durable yet lightweight build to its versatile camera system and robust performance, it stands out as a formidable competitor in the premium smartphone segment.
While it may require some convincing for Indian buyers at its price point, the Find X8 Pro delivers exceptional value, proving itself as a worthy alternative to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro. For those seeking a flagship experience with a touch of innovation, Oppo’s latest offering is hard to overlook.
