HP has consistently pushed the envelope when it comes to innovation in the laptop market, and its latest release, the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop, stays true to this legacy. Designed to combine performance, style, and AI integration, this laptop is packed with features tailored for professionals and creators alike. With its Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, AI-enhanced capabilities, and a stunning OLED display, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 promises to deliver a next-gen computing experience.
But does it live up to the expectations? Let’s find out.
Design
The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 impresses with its sleek and durable full-metal body. The build feels solid, with minimal flex on the lid and keyboard deck, and the device weighs nearly 1.3kg, making it highly portable. The design draws inspiration from HP’s premium Spectre lineup, featuring chamfered edges that enhance aesthetics while housing functional USB-C ports.

We got the Atmospheric Blue variant to review. This variant brings a youthful vibe, appealing to creators and younger users. However, the laptop is prone to smudges, particularly on the lid, which is one drawback with its otherwise premium finish.

The 360-degree hinge is the standout feature, allowing the device to transition between laptop, tablet, tent, and presentation modes. The hinge is sturdy, holding the screen steady at various angles. The tent mode is especially useful for media consumption, while the tablet mode, though slightly awkward due to the laptop’s weight, adds versatility.
In terms of ports, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-C 3.2 port, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Unfortunately, the absence of a USB-A port might frustrate users who rely on older peripherals. Additionally, the lack of an HDMI port is a drawback for professionals who need external display connectivity.
Display
The 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen is one of the strongest aspects of the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14. With a 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits of brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, the display offers a vibrant and immersive viewing experience. The variable refresh rate (48-120Hz) ensures smooth scrolling and fluid visuals, whether you’re editing, streaming, or multitasking.
The colours are rich, and the blacks are deep, making it ideal for creators working on photo and video editing. During testing, watching content on Netflix and YouTube was a delight, with the visuals sharp and lifelike. The addition of IMAX Enhanced certification further elevates the viewing experience.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard on the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is excellent for productivity. The keys are well-spaced and offer a good amount of travel, ensuring a comfortable typing experience. Two-level backlighting is available, and the dedicated CoPilot key provides quick access to Microsoft’s AI assistant, a thoughtful addition to modern workflows.
The haptic touchpad is generously sized and responsive, making navigation smooth. Multi-touch gestures work well, but the firm clicking feedback might take time to get used to. While the touchpad is functional, heavy users may prefer an external mouse for extended work sessions.
Webcam
The 9 MP IR AI camera is a standout feature, delivering clear and crisp video quality even in low-light conditions. Features like auto-framing, eye contact correction, and background blur (powered by AI) enhance the video conferencing experience. The inclusion of Windows Studio Effects adds more tools for customising your video calls. The camera also supports Windows Hello, enabling secure facial recognition login, which is fast and reliable.
Performance
Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Intel AI Boost NPU, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 delivers smooth and efficient performance. With 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, multitasking is seamless. Whether it’s running multiple apps, editing videos, or handling large datasets, the laptop handles it all without breaking a sweat.
The AI capabilities are a highlight, with tools that simplify workflows and enhance productivity. The HP AI Companion app enables features like document summarisation and photo editing. Additionally, AI-enhanced video and audio improvements ensure better quality during calls and meetings. We won’t consider the laptop as a go-to for gaming, but for light gaming, the integrated GPU offers decent performance.
Battery
The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 offers impressive battery life. The company claims the battery lasts up to 21 hours on light usage. During our testing, we found that it lasted for 9 hours straight on a single charge, covering productivity tasks like browsing, document editing, and streaming. The fast-charging technology is a boon, charging the battery up to 50% in just 30 minutes with the included adapter.
Verdict
If you are in the market and have a good budget, then the new HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 comes across as an excellent 2-in-1 laptop that combines sleek design, versatile features, and AI-enhanced performance.
Priced at ₹1,89,999, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is a premium laptop that justifies its cost with its performance, versatility, and AI capabilities. If you’re looking for a device that blends work and play seamlessly, this laptop is worth considering.
That said, the absence of a USB-A port and HDMI might deter some users. The screen’s tendency to attract smudges and the glossy finish are minor flaws but not dealbreakers.
