Google has announced that Veo, their AI video generator will now be available for private preview for their Google Cloud platform, Vertex AI. Veo is able to generate short video clips from images and simple prompts just like OpenAI’s Sora.
The company also made their highest performing text-to-image AI model, Imagen 3 available to all Google Cloud customers on Vertex.
Developed by DeepMind, Veo was unveiled earlier at the Google I/O conference, and can generate high-quality 1080p resolution videos lasting beyond a minute with 24 or 30 frames per second in a variety of cinematic and visual styles.
After the launch, Google said that Veo will also be available on Poe, the AI chatbot platform owned by Quora, which is a customer for the search giant. Mondelez International, the owner of another client, Oreo has been given access to Veo for creating marketing content.
In September, YouTube had announced that users will be able to generate between six to seven second Shorts clips and backgrounds for their videos using Veo.
The images and video clips made by Veo and Imagen 3 will be digitally watermarked for safety with SynthID.
