Google Docs starts rolling out ‘Help Me Create’ AI tool

Google is reportedly rolling out a new AI tool in Docs called ‘Help Me Create.’ The feature will help users create an entire document with the appropriate cover image, stylised text, tables and content from files in their Google Drive.

Spotted by Android Police, the tool is already being gradually released to users.

Users just need to enter a detailed prompt describing what they want. The AI feature has options for several use cases including marketing plans, party planning checklists and so on.

They can also specify which documents the tool can pull from exactly in the prompt by naming them preceded by an ‘@.’

Google has said that the feature will require an addon from Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium or Google One AI Premium for their Workspace account.

The outlet said that the extended rollout for the feature has been scheduled for December 16 and is expected to be launched fully by January 9 next year.

Google has been steadily integrating AI features into its apps with AI image generator Imagen 3 being added to Docs for Workspace users last month.
